    现工作于中国医学科学院肿瘤医院，担任胸外科食管病区主任，享受国务院政府特殊津贴，承担多项国家级项目及课题。现任国家癌症中心肿瘤质控中心食管癌质控专家委员会副组长兼秘书长， CSCO食管癌专委会副主委/候任主委，中国食管疾病学会（CSDE）副主任委员/候任主委，中华医学会胸心血管外科学分会委员、食管疾病学组组长，中国医师协会胸外科医师分会加速康复专家委员会副主委，中国医师协会胸外科分会常委、食管外科专委会主任委员，中国抗癌协会食管癌专委会副主委，中国抗癌协会肺癌专委会委员，中国医疗保健国际交流促进会胸外科分会副主任委员、食管癌学组组长，英国皇家外科学院（院士）、食管癌微创外科国家高级培训项目首席专家，卫生部胸外科医师定期考核编委会委员。主要研究领域为胸部肿瘤的基础与临床，擅长食管癌、贲门癌和纵隔肿瘤的微创外科治疗以及综合治疗。在国际上首创食管癌“免管免禁”微创加速康复外科技术与模式，国际领先。曾任河南省肿瘤医院胸外科主任，作为国家重点专科学科带头人，主持国家"十二五"科技支撑计划项目、国家"十一五"科技支撑计划项目、河南省医学科技创新人才工程项目、河南省科技攻关项目（重点）、河南省医学科技攻关计划项目等多项科技项目。2006和2014年共有2项成果获省科学技术进步二等奖、2014年获得省医学新技术引进一等奖一项，2012年获厅一等、二等奖各一项。发表学术论文110篇，其中SCI和EI收录33篇，中华、国家级和核心期刊系列杂志70余篇。在国际上开创性开展了食管癌加速康复外科模式和相关技术的临床研究，首创了“免管免禁法”食管外科加速康复模式，在国际上首次提出并实现了食管癌术后无需放置胃管、营养管，术后第一天即可经口进食、下床活动，术后5-7天即可出院的外科治疗新模式，围手术期生活质量大大提高、并发症减少、费用明显降低，这一原创性重大技术创新在国际食管外科技术发展史上具有里程碑式的意义，获得国内外知名专家同行的肯定和赞许。先后被北京、上海、广州等十多家全国知名医院邀请做学术推广和手术演示，多次应邀 在全国性学术会议上做专题发言及手术表演。举办全国性高级培训班（高级职称、三甲医院）20余次，学员来自20多个省份和地区。在全国开展食管癌微创及加速康复外科“百人百院”项目的推广。在国内率先开展了全胸腹腔镜食管癌根治术，在省内率先开展了全胸腔镜肺叶切除和系统性淋巴结清扫术、食管癌三野淋巴结清扫术、隆凸成形、复杂食管气管外伤手术，以及胸腔镜下纵隔肿瘤的切除术。由于其学术贡献和影响力，2013年其团队被中国胸外科医师协会授予“大中华胸腔镜外科学院培训中心”，首次在全国肿瘤专科医院成立“肿瘤内镜外科培训基地”。任《Annals of Esophagus》主编、美国胸外科年鉴普胸外科分册中文版（ATS）编委、《THORACIC CANCER》编委、《INNOVATION 中文版》编委、《中国肺癌杂志》常务编委、《中华胸部外科电子杂志》编委、《中华腔镜外科杂志（电子版）》编委、《食管外科电子杂志》编委委员、《肝病与胃肠病学杂志》常务编委、《河南外科学杂志》编委。被评为河南省学术技术带头人、河南省中青年科技专家、河南省“555”人才及及国家级“555”人才推荐人选。
